Rubicon
“Rubicon,” 7 x 5 inches, oil on panel, 2022
Julie Webb's original oil painting, “Rubicon," depicts the immersive nature of her street-level apartment where, in 2022, she wrote her upcoming self-titled debut album.
Julie’s self-portrait is on display as she gazes through the window, in admiration of you, passing by on the street below.
“Rubicon” later inspired the background lyrics for Julie’s debut single, “2:22”: Aren’t you glad you wore the right shoes, Girl?
“Street Level” is another song from Julie’s upcoming debut album that was inspired by her ground floor apartment and her painting, “Rubicon.”
Julie titled this painting “Rubicon” because not only was it the name of the blue Jeep always parked outside her window (bottom left), it was also at this moment that she realized she had reached the point of no return as an artist, musician, and dancer. She could no longer hide from the world. She was in deep; ensconced in her wildest dreams.
